Our mission
Our mission is to provide the young people of Marginea with a safe, active and creative space in which to grow, express themselves freely and actively contribute to the transformation of their community.
We believe that young people in rural areas deserve the same opportunities as those in cities. And we believe those opportunities don't just have to be waited for — they have to be built. We want every young person in Marginea to know they can be part of real change, whether their passion is sport, education, art or civic engagement.
Through our projects — from sports activities and educational workshops to mentoring, mental health campaigns and community initiatives — we encourage courage, initiative, solidarity and hands-on learning.
Our vision
We dream of a Marginea where young people are respected, heard and involved. A modern rural community where civic participation, non-formal education and a healthy lifestyle are the norm, not the exception.
Our vision is for Marginea to become a national model of good practice in youth work — a place where young ideas are supported, turned into reality and celebrated by the whole community.
The future is not waited for, it is made. And we are making it here, at home, in Marginea.
Our values
- Authenticity: we speak directly, we do what we promise, we don't hide behind titles
- Solidarity: a young person's success is a victory for the whole community
- Initiative: we don't wait for permission to build something new
- Continuity: our projects are part of a long-term vision
- Inclusion: every young person from Marginea has a place at our table
What we have built
In 2025 and 2026 we turned vision into reality. We founded the Youth Centre of Marginea, the first space dedicated exclusively to young people in the village. We created the Youth Forum, a permanent mechanism for dialogue between young people and local authorities. We secured European funding and organised dozens of sports, cultural and civic activities.
And in 2026, Marginea earned the title of European Youth Village — recognition that our work matters, not just at home, but at a European level.
